quills by geoffrey rush and kate winslet is a terribly nice show.
yes. sexual innuendo. in fact, it's terribly explicit.
yet the point, the message it brings across is painfully ironic.
it's about marquis de sade, the originator of the term sadism.
"sadism is the sexual pleasure or gratification in the infliction of pain and suffering upon another person" -wikipedia.
anw, the whole show it's not about sex. it's more on 'the brutality of censorship and the unpredictable consequences of free expression.'
sadly, all these people who thrive in free expression end in deaths or madness.
i really like the show ((:
however, madness always bring a certain truth in it. ironic but true
we see this in king lear, don't we?
wisdom in madness. and madness in wisdom.
anw, in the show, another point came across. religion (not again!)
for religion, will you give up your love?
i wanna be like tennessee williams. and colour my already-gray(ed) memories.
colour them in red and green. let everyday be christmas day.
in fact, the past is more coloured than my present. (exculding the past few days)
how sad is this.
thank God that the haze is gone.
welcome back, blue sky holiday
"Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man,
in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth;
in that very day his thoughts perish.
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help,
whose hope is in the LORD his God"
Psalms 146:3-5
the blue sky holiday.
last week of school. here i go.
